Social crisis

Illegal confinement, occupying premises and picketing were centre stage when the media spotlighted some spectacular, violent social conflicts. The social, union and sometimes political mechanisms that create and feed a crisis are well-known and predictable.

While a crisis cannot always be avoided, it is a temporary, exceptional state of affairs and we can anticipate how to deal with it.

Social crisis management is a profession based on solid experience and we have been managing crises for 20 years.

Seniors

As of January 2010 it will become mandatory to have a job protection scheme or action plan and to recruit seniors.

In the absence of concrete, measurable provisions, companies will have to pay URSSAF a fine of 1% of the gross wage bill for every month without proper cover.

This represents a dual challenge for companies:

• how to guarantee a measure that covers the URSSAF risk; and
• how to target concrete, realistic measures adapted to the context.
